In 2024 the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa started its operations in Uganda along two main objectives:

  • Strengthen regional organic trade based on the East African Organic Product Standard (EAOPS)

Working with our partners Biovision Africa Trust, Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN), Tanzania Organic Agricultural Movement (TOAM) and National Organic Agricultural Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU) we support organizations achieving compliance with the East African Organic Product Standards and match buyers and sellers of organic products across borders.

  • Support SME’s regional exports by increasing product quality through AfPQ Q-Boost, a newly developed standardized program on the introduction of quality management systems.

The new AfPQ Q-Boost Program is piloted in Uganda in collaboration with partner organizations. Q-Boost is a program supporting export ready SMEs in the introduction of a quality management system that works for the company and will increase the product quality enabling the companies to take advantage of regional export opportunities.
